Bryanne (or Bree as we affectionately call her) is 25 years old and has been with R&R since 2008. I came to R&R after I had surgery on my knee and we were looking for some social outings and a break for Sue (Bree’s Mum). In Bree’s own words, “My Mum was desperate for a break and needing help after I had surgery.” I have since then attended many week trips and weekends away which I love. Bree has also been a new participant in our Community Participation Day program. Bree wanted a new start with a program that catered for her individual goals and support needs. Bree contributed significantly to the design of our new Day Program and suggested many of the activities. “Most of what we are doing is my suggestions”, said Bree. She also added that “Jenni and R&R are our life savers and I don’t know what we’d do without them.”
Bree also added that she has been learning new skills like how to cook pasta sauce from scratch and how to tell good eggs from bad eggs. “Did you know that if you put tomatoes in boiling water you can peel them then crushing them and make your own tomato sauce as a base for spaghetti and pasta?”
Sue also added “R&R have been a lifeline to me. With my husband working away for half of every year (2 weeks away, 2 weeks home) it’s so good to know I can call Jenni when times are tough and organise some help. We are made to feel like we are a person not just a number. The R&R family are amazing.”
“R&R gave me my first real opportunity to work in a new industry following my career change. I value the opportunity that you extended, the way in which everyone at R&R including Admin, Coordinators and fellow Support Workers welcomed the new greenhorn and the valuable experience gained. ”
“Wonderful organisation doing some great programs and initiatives.”
“Great place to work with awesome staff and clients keep up the good work”
“I am very grateful and blessed that I have been part of a wonderful service during my time at R&R Disability Services.”
Just wanted to thank you for the amazing support staff you have put into our home to help with our daughter . One outstanding support worker supported her in such a professional manner , and was not afraid to help in any way she could .
I’m emailing today to tell you how great my support worker is; not only is he very patient, helpful and quick-thinking, but he’s also the most friendly worker I’ve had to date. Whenever I’m not feeling my best, he seems to see that and not push me to do things that I’d otherwise be willing to do, however when I am feeling able to do things, he encourages me to do it myself, he teaches me how to do it if I’m not understanding, or congratulates me when I do it by myself.
