Throughout my working life I have always been involved with people.
After completing year 12 I went on to study to become a teacher.
This was a very rewarding time in my life.
After teaching for 10 years an opportunity came along that allowed me to move into the Physiotherapy field where I worked for the next 11 years.
Through my work in the Physiotherapy world I met many people with disabilities. It is through these relationships that I then found myself working in the Disability Industry which has spanned the past 18 years.
I began my Disability career as a support worker, supporting many individuals to grow in independence, confidence, to achieve their goals, to increase their community involvement, learn life skills & to encourage & support them to make connections & friendships.
From there I moved into the accommodation area where I spent 8 years as part of a team supporting three very high needs ladies to live independently in their own home. A very challenging but equally rewarding time in my life.
For the past 10 years I have been a part of the R&R Care team. I have progressed from a support worker to a Program Coordinator, to Client Services Manager.
Throughout this time I have studied & successfully completed my Certificate 3 in Disabilities, Diploma in Disabilities & Diploma of Case Management.
I am deeply passionate about my job, the people I come in contact with & the families I have the pleasure in assisting on a daily basis as part of my role as a Program Coordinator.
This journey is about to take a new path as we welcome in the NDIS. I look forward to the challenges & to guiding, supporting & assisting families through this change.
My passion, commitment & respect, is you the people who walk through the R&R Care door each and every day. I will do my utmost to assist you through life’s ups & downs, achieve the goals you set & continually look to the future for the life you are striving to achieve.
Just wanted to thank you for the amazing support staff you have put into our home to help with our daughter . One outstanding support worker supported her in such a professional manner , and was not afraid to help in any way she could .
“R&R gave me my first real opportunity to work in a new industry following my career change. I value the opportunity that you extended, the way in which everyone at R&R including Admin, Coordinators and fellow Support Workers welcomed the new greenhorn and the valuable experience gained. ”
“Wonderful organisation doing some great programs and initiatives.”
“Great place to work with awesome staff and clients keep up the good work”
“I am very grateful and blessed that I have been part of a wonderful service during my time at R&R Disability Services.”
I’m emailing today to tell you how great my support worker is; not only is he very patient, helpful and quick-thinking, but he’s also the most friendly worker I’ve had to date. Whenever I’m not feeling my best, he seems to see that and not push me to do things that I’d otherwise be willing to do, however when I am feeling able to do things, he encourages me to do it myself, he teaches me how to do it if I’m not understanding, or congratulates me when I do it by myself.
